My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me... Matthew 26:38

If you are like me, you have times in your life when you feel God does not come through for you. You pray and pray and-nothing. Or, He tells you NO! When our children are sick or our husbands are going through a difficult time, we need God to come through for us. Yet, there are times when we wonder if God is even listening, or if He even cares. When this happens we wonder what we are doing wrong. Is there sin in my life I am not dealing with? Am I praying the wrong way? Is there something You want me to do first, Lord? Thoughts of an inadequate prayer life plague us during these times of uncertainty. The good news is that prayer is not about us. It is about Gods will for us. Even Jesus was given no for an answer. When He was in the Garden of Gethsemane, He prayed, My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Thankfully for us, the cup was not taken from Him. He went on to die for our sins to redeem the world. Remember, Jesus was without sin and He still received no for an answer. He prayed to the Father, Yet not as I will, but as You will. You can be in the will of God, do nothing wrong, and still receive no for an answer to prayer. God is pleased with you for submitting your requests to Him. Even though He may say no, His answer reflects the best course of action for your life. In Christ's love, Julie
