How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called the children of God! I John 3:1
I want to share the awe and majesty of Gods love with you this week. As I was reading I John, I was amazed to see Johns enthusiasm for Gods love. John, in this passage of Scripture, is completely amazed at the absolute wonder of Gods love for us. God showed us His love by forgiving us of all our sins. His own Son paid the penalty we deserved so that we could be set free. But He didnt stop there. He has also made believers members of His family. We were once children of darkness and now, by grace, we are children of God-what an amazing privilege! In Ephesians 3:18-19, Paul prays that we might be able to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know the love that surpasses knowledge. A love that reaches to every area of our lives, a love that never ends, a love that has adopted us as sons and daughters. God certainly has invited us to know a love thats beyond our full comprehension! Our words couldn’t begin to define it, because it goes far beyond our wildest imaginations. Still, I John 4:16 reminds us to know and rely on the love God has for us. How about you? Have you come to the place where you can say that you truly experience and rely on Gods love? How do you experience His love? Lets begin praying this week that God would remove every barrier that keeps us from living out I John 4:16? His love for us is perfect, beautiful, unfailing. Lets experience it to the fullest and rely on it instead of our own fears. When we experience this kind of love, we can truly exclaim with John, How great is the love the Father has lavished on us!- Bible Readings for the Week Ahead:
