I am the Resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.... John 11:25
Everyday I drive past that same spot-a place where years earlier a young, college girl was killed in a car accident. She never saw the truck... and just like that, in the twinkling of an eye, she was gone. Her family always keeps an immaculate roadside shrine of fresh flowers and a teddy bear dressed to match the holiday. I often wonder: Was she Daddys little girl? Moms best shopping buddy? Was she in love? Did she dream of someday having children? Is it really over? Forever? As such questions race through my conscience, I am reminded of Jesus with His dear friend, Lazarus. Before He raised Lazarus from the grave, Jesus wept. But Jesus tears were not for Lazarus, they were for us. I am the Resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, though he may die. Its so hard to see Gods eternal picture when your mind is racked with grief, but to believe in Jesus is to believe in something beyond all of this. I know that girl was loved. And with all my heart I hope she loved Jesus. I pray for her family. I want Daddy to see his baby girl again... Moms empty arms filled with the delight of her little darling... Tears of grief turned to joy. I want that for them. And for you and me.- Bible Readings for the Week Ahead:
