For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Romans 5:6

Have you ever been so distracted by what you want that you fail to recognize the strengths, abilities, and help you have through Jesus Christ? A friend of mine was a nanny for a disabled boy for several years. I recall a particular phase she spoke of where he constantly wanted to put together Legos; not just any Legos, but those tiny, minute pieces that get lost in the carpet! Due to his lack of motor skills, it would take him a good hour to build a small car. One day he was having an extremely difficult time assembling a set of wheels with the base of his newly assembled car. The problem wasnt that the pieces he needed were missing in the abyss of the carpet strands, but that he was not matching the holes of the Legos correctly. In fact, his attention was so focused on the work in progress and doing it himself, that when my friend offered help, instead of accepting, he refused and became overwhelmingly frustrated. It broke her heart to see him cry, not understanding that all he needed to do was offer her his project and she could help him put the pieces together. When I reflect on this childs frustration in putting together Lego pieces, I cannot help but think of the numerous times in my own life when I have completely failed to accept Gods help in piecing things together. We were helpless-and at the right time Christ died for us. As David declared, Behold, God is my helper, we, too, must admit when we need help. Because at the right time, God will offer it. Never allow your building plans to block the main Architect.
