Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

There must have been an explosion in the living room-the coffee table diagonally positioned with its centerpiece knocked over on the floor, partially filled glasses with some kind of liquid substance in place of the mosaic centerpiece, a single dress shoe and a single sneaker lying on one side of the room with their matches at the bottom of the stairs... And the kitchen-it contains a pile of food-encrusted dishes in the sink, along with crumbs in every corner and crevice of the floor and countertop. Not to mention the trash, overflowing with dirty paper towels and banana peels. The only logical explanation is that someone broke in and set off a small bomb! I mean, come on, Are the people I live with really this messy? Do you ever come home wondering whether intruders came into your home? Or whether your family has completely forgotten the civilized way of living they were taught? For a moment, you may wonder if the only way to prevent chaos is to actually stay at home all day. Then you become realistic and reconcile your conscious, knowing that bet ween work, kids, and everything else, staying at home all day is not an option. Its often at these moments as women we feel invisible, underappreciated or even hopeless. Jesus welcome words call out, as if saying, Give me your impossible burdens. I will carry them. Jesus is in touch with the burdens of life that we carry and how much they hurt and exhaust us. When we give our troubled hearts to Him, He gives us rest for our souls. With Thanksgiving now over and the Christmas season fast approaching, that kind of rest will cure our burnout and renew our enthusiasm for Him!
Prayer
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. - Jesus
