Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7

Glittering tiara. Yards of pink toile. Layered, full-length skirt. An ordinary girl transformed into a dream princess. What we wear can certainly change our attitude about ourselves. Dress us up and we feel and act like a princess. Throw on the old jeans and a ratty t-shirt and we feel like Cinderella scrubbing the hearth. A part of us knows we get treated like royalty when we look the part. But God sees far beyond the perfect outfit you’re wearing. He looks at how you clothe your heart. In his letter to the Colossians, Paul says to clothe yourself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience and love. This type of clothing is far more important than keeping up a princess appearance. Nice clothes can certainly help you feel good about yourself, but the clothing inside-the virtues that are referred to in the Bible-is of greater importance. How you dress on the inside-the way you treat your family, husband, friends, and how you interact with anyone throughout the day-is what really matters. Dress yourself from the inside out-that will make all the difference in how you approach the world. Staying in style on the outside is fine, but be sure that you have an attitude full of the Spirit of God on the inside. It will make all the difference!
Prayer
Search my heart, Lord, and fill me with Your Spirit. Clothe me with righteousness and love so all I do will glorify You. Amen.
