Let us make man in our image.... Genesis 1:26

You don't have to go very far in the Bible to realize that we are made for relationships-with God and with significant others in our lives. In fact, Genesis 1:26 is the first reference in the Bible showing the Trinitarian nature of God Himself, Let us make man in our image. We serve a relational God. Three distinct Persons-the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. One God. The Scripture is clear-we were not made to be alone (Genesis 2:18). Yet so much today is ripping and tearing at our relationships-at our love and affection for each other... with our husbands, children, friends, co-workers and, especially, our time with God. Created NOT to be alone-so many lie in bed at night crying themselves to sleep just wishing somebody would understand them, know them, and just be with them. But God doesn’t want you there. His dream for you is to be in vibrant, healthy, edifying, fruitful, refreshing, and encouraging relationships-to know He is there for and with you. Ask yourself today, What are the challenges that are keeping you from an intimate relationship with your Creator, God? What is affecting the relationships with those you love? Don’t let aloneness trump the joy of healthy relationships in your life!
Prayer
Father, thank you for making me in Your image. Reveal the barriers holding me back from seeking You and help me to develop intimacy with You. Please give me the courage to face the things affecting my relationships with those I love the most. Amen
