I dread getting junk mail and e-mails. Often they are full of meaningless messages. But, if I were to tell you about mail that could literally change your life, would you open it? The Bible is your special letter from God. It has a living, breathing message that will ignite your heart for life. But opening the Word takes work. Many times to me the Bible seems like the heaviest book on the shelf. The reason: because Satan is hard at work making sure we forget to read Gods love letter to us. Your mindset has everything to do with whether or not you're reading the Word. Are you approaching the Bible with an attitude of drudgery? Or, do you see it as an adventure you cant wait to be a part of? We should come to God and His Word with a spirit of expectation, knowing we are going to encounter the living God! First, God sent Jesus. Then, He sent you a love letter in the form of the Bible. The more familiar you are with Him and His Word, the more intimate the two of you will become. Open it. Read it. Memorize it. Pray over it. Embrace it. Go to your inbox and listen to what God is saying. You've got mail every day!

Prayer

Thank you Lord for sending a love letter to me in the Bible. Give me a willing and eager heart that yearns for closeness to You. Reveal Yourself to me as I read Your Word each day. Amen.
