“For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous…” 1 Peter 3:12

Sometimes my kids make me crazy. But I think it’s probably because sometimes I make them crazy too. There just is so much to do and we only have so much time to get it all done. And I push to get it all done too.

Did you know that children on average face about 1200 commands a day? And if they have a mother like me you expect they’ll only get 1199 of them right. When they don’t—everyone in the family is affected. Bad moods reap bad moods.

But even the best kids only accomplish about 80% of the commands they face. And when my kids don’t listen to me I get frustrated because I think my plan is what’s best for them…but come to find out it really wasn’t the best thing or even necessary for them anyway.

God’s not like that with you…His plans are righteous and perfect. And He has given us a manual of life for a reason. When you follow the precepts of God there really is a blessing on your life. What’s so wonderful about God is that His frustration is usually gentle and His steadfast love remains strong. Always encouraging and challenging us in the way we should go (Jeremiah 29:11).

Prayer
Father, life is tough and I often fall short of living according to Your commands. Please help me to live righteously. To do things right the first time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
