"The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." Matthew 7:25
Daniel is an intelligent man. Worked his way quickly up the corporate ladder. Married Kristyn. Had everything going for him. Job. Great family with two kids. They were set for life.
Bryan, on the other hand, struggled to make a living. Married at a young age. Had three children. He and his wife, Elise, struggled to put food on the table. Then, suddenly, their middle son died of an illness. Medical bills piled up. The pain did too.
Two families at two extremes. Which would you rather be? The story goes on. You see, the difference in these two families lies not in finances, life circumstances or social status. Instead, it lies in where they place their security. Daniel’s social standing and financial status were not enough to keep his marriage together. Long trips away from home and tension when he came back, dissolved his marriage.
Bryan and Elise were different. They placed their security in Jesus Christ. The men at the factory took up a collection to pay for medical bills. Even the church pitched in. The community support surrounding the family was a testimony to their foundation.
What is your foundation? Where is your security placed? God’s dream for you is to have Jesus Christ, your Rock and Redeemer, be the solid foundation you need to build strong and healthy life – abundant, filled with joy and purpose!
