"Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven." Luke 10:20
Since sin entered the world, wars have been fought for a wide variety of reasons. World wars have been fought over ruthless leaders carrying out acts of genocide and today war rages across various parts of the world between terror cells and the countries seeking to destroy them. War is inevitable and will continue.
The same holds true for you. Continuous war must be fought by believers. The war I am talking about is the constant struggle between good and evil as Satan tries to rule your life. Broken relationships. Loss of jobs. Constant conflicts in your marriage. Lies you believe about yourself. These can all be related to Satan's attack on you!
What battles are you facing? What lies do you believe from the enemy? In Luke 10, Jesus grants the disciples and all believers, including you, the power to not just overcome evil, but to trample on them so that "nothing shall by any means hurt you." Jesus has already defeated Satan and has won this battle through His death and resurrection. Because of His sacrifice, you can have eternal life and your name written in heaven. No matter what you are facing, you are victorious through Christ! We don’t fight for victory in Christ but from victory in Him.
