"Arise, go to Zarephath… See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you." 1 Kings 17:9

The ministry of Extraordinary Women was born out of the belief that God can do extraordinary things using ordinary women. The widow of Zarephath is no exception. In the midst of the various trials and heartaches of losing her husband, nearly losing her son and her own life, this ordinary woman continued to trust and believe even when it seemed useless to do so.

God chose to provide the most unlikely candidate for Elijah—a woman who could barely provide for herself. Yet she did not question God’s plan. She kept on working, doing all she could with her meager supplies. God provided for Zarephath, her son, and His prophet, Elijah.

Have you ever looked into an empty cupboard wondering where the next meal would come from? Or maybe it’s not a financial concern. Maybe your heart is an empty cupboard filled with unmet needs and extreme worries. I pray today that your hope would be found in the God who always comes through. The God who transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary. Something beautiful from something plain. Allow Him to make a difference through you today!

Prayer
Dear Lord, thank You for coming to my aid. When my cupboards are empty and my fuel tank is low, I pray You will fill me with the physical, emotional, and spiritual nutrients I need. Give me the divine strength to move from the ordinary to the extraordinary. Amen.
