“Save me, for I am yours; I have sought out your precepts.” – Psalm 119:94 (NIV)
Daily Meditation: Psalm 119:89-96, Ephesians 1:1-14
“Save me, God! Please, God, show up! Rescue me, us, our family.” How many times have you cried out to God in desperation? And have you ever wondered if he’s even listening? We may doubt who we really are in Christ, and we may doubt that He hears us. But He does. He is always listening, and He wants us to come to Him. “Who am I? What value do I have? Am I important to you, to me, to God, to others?” Because I know that “I am yours,” I don’t have to doubt my worth or wonder about the answers to these questions. That phrase, “I am yours,” reminds me that God is my heavenly father, and what father would give his son or daughter a stone? Not mine—and not yours!
When you do cry out to God, cry out with the attitude that “I am yours.” We all ask questions, and the world will readily throw false answers at us, so we need to be careful to always get our answers from the truth of Scripture! Who are you? You are His beloved daughter. That is the correct and final answer.
- Your self-worth is no longer in question!
- Your value is no longer in question!
- Your importance is no longer in question!
Decide to live loved by God, for that is who you truly are. Nothing else matters. His love for you makes you priceless!
“Being the beloved is our identity, the core of our existence. It is not merely a lofty thought, an inspiring idea, or one name among many. It is the name by which God knows us and the way He relates to us.” – Brennan Manning
When our identity is correctly defined, there is no going back. Why would we? He has adopted us as His precious children, and He wants us to bring our prayers to Him. So yes, cry out to Him. You are His beloved daughter!
