“Then Jesus said to her, ‘Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.’ And her daughter was healed at that moment.” – Matthew 15:28 (NIV)

Daily Meditation: Matthew 15:21-28, Luke 11:5-13

Imagine being praised by Jesus for having great faith. Remember the story of the woman who was begging Jesus for her daughter’s healing? Jesus told her, “You have great faith!” and He added, “Your request is granted.” Can you imagine that?

This woman was a fighter. She would not take no for an answer! When she initially asked Jesus to heal her daughter, He ignored her. But instead of giving up, she kept on asking. His disciples begged Jesus to make her leave, and Jesus even told her bluntly that He came only for the “lost sheep of Israel” (vs. 24). But she didn’t leave. She fell to her knees and begged again, and Jesus pushed back as well, explaining that it was not right to “take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs” (vs. 26).

What type of woman would stand up to Jesus, God’s only Son and savior of the world, and say to His face, “Yes, Lord, but…?!?” She refused to be denied. She would not let go until He met her need, and He did! Get it, girl! Keep the faith, and press in. He is there to meet you.

“Faith is deliberate confidence in the character of God   Be Fearless 97 whose ways you may not understand at the time.” – Oswald Chambers

Hold on for what you believe, want, and need from Him. Like a pitbull, refuse to let go. Keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking! That is faith. Get it, girl! Plant yourself at the feet of the One who is God, who is love, and who is your Father.
