“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,

knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward.

You are serving the Lord Christ”

– Colossians 3:23-24 (ESV)

Daily Meditation: Matthew 16:24, Proverbs 23:26

It’s so easy to slip into apathy in the midst of our daily grind. The chores. The kids. The job. The same routine that just keeps on going day after day after day. When will it ever end?

It will end when your perspective changes! Paul’s message in Colossians 3:23 is simple: Listen up; whatever you do, do it for God! It doesn’t matter what you’re doing. You can glorify God through absolutely anything. Whether it’s changing diapers, working in your office, or shopping for groceries, you can do everything with the attitude of seeking to please God. And God wants us to move through our days with joy. He smiles upon us when we go through life having fun.

The crazy thing is that every day we have is a gift from God! The items on our to-do list shouldn’t be viewed as things we have to do, but rather as things we get to do! Let’s make this fun; let’s think about how we can turn ordinary tasks like doing the dishes into times to worship, pray, or dream about fun ways we might bless others in the coming days. Let’s make the mundane holy by changing our attitude! Giving our all requires a constant decision to glorify and obey. As 1 Corinthians 10:31 (NIV) reads, “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

We may be doing boring and ordinary tasks, but if we do them as unto the Lord, it will change our lives!

“There will never be enough thanks, never enough words nor thoughts high or deep enough

to adequately convey His worth. I don’t know how to give back to the Lord what He deserves

other than to just offer Him my life and every part of me.”

– Kari Jobe

Be fearless: Let’s devote ourselves today to finding ways to honor and glorify God in the little things. If everything we say and do is done in the name of Jesus to bring him praise, we can expect God to do the unexpected on our behalf!

Let’s let 2019 be the year we grow closer to the Lord and become the fearless, strong, and faithful woman we are meant to be in Him!
