Mandisa is a popular gospel and contemporary Christian recording artist who began her career as a contestant on American Idol. She is the fifth American Idol alumna to win a Grammy Award for her album, Overcomer, as the Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. Mandisa continues to be a voice of encouragement and truth to women facing life’s challenges by authoring two books. Her latest, released in 2021, Out of the Dark: My Journey Through the Shadows to Find God’s Joy, shares her passage through depression after the loss of a close friend.
