“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

– Matthew 11:28 (NIV)

Daily Meditation: 1 Corinthians 10:13, Psalm 7

What do you turn to when you are overwhelmed, tired, frustrated, hurt, or exhausted? Jesus is calling. You may be too busy to hear him, but he is simply saying, “Come to me.” So run to him! Don’t try to fight through the stress and chaos on your own. Let him hold you and remind you that he is with you. He declares, “I will give you rest.” When we are overwhelmed and overworked and life feels continually off balance, he will give us the gift we so desperately need—rest!

When I came to the realization that my Father is always giving me far more than I give to him, another revelation occurred in my heart… God does this on purpose! God gives us more than we can handle in our own strength, but never more than we can handle in his strength. When we are knocked off balance we are forced to turn back to him, and it is God who steadies us. It is God who gives us rest.

“God wants us to know Him deeply because He knows what knowing Him will do for us.”

– Peter V. Deison

Be fearless: I am so thankful that I can run to God in times of need. He welcomes me, and he welcomes you too! In the tough times, he is there—with you, for you, and ready to abundantly give you the rest you need.
